Siam Queen basil is native to Asia and is the cultivar closest to the better-known Thai basil in aroma, appearance, and cultivation method. It is distinguished by its aromatic and spicy flavor, reminiscent of a mix of licorice and cloves. This variety is therefore the ideal choice for those who want to enrich their recipes, even the most traditional, with microgreens and baby leaves with an unusual and unique flavor.

Siam Queen Organic Basil

Siam Queen basil, botanical name Ocimum basilicum, is a popular variety used in Southeast Asia. Compared to Thai basil, it has a more peppery and spicy flavor, and the plant requires more space to grow optimally. Thanks to the refined and exotic appearance of its green leaves with purple stems, it is often used as a decorative plant, not only in vegetable gardens and gardens but also in cooking.

How can I grow it?

Producing organic Siam Queen Basil sprouts is quick and easy, even at home.
Siam Queen Basil, like all other variants of the same family, has a mucilaginous seedThis means that, when it comes into contact with water, it develops a mucous membrane around itself to ensure proper and constant humidity throughout germination. Therefore, we recommend not soaking the seeds, planting them too densely, or overwatering them, especially in the early days of growth.
Store the seeds in the dark, watering them about twice a day, until they have fully germinated after 4-5 days. Then, place them in the light until they are ready to be harvested: this will ensure they develop the best possible flavor and aroma. After about 20 days, you can harvest your Siam Queen Basil microgreens, cutting them as close to the root as possible, and enjoy them.

How can I eat it?

Organic Siam Queen Basil microgreens, with their aromatic flavor and hints of licorice and cloves, are the perfect addition to enhance your dishes, such as salads, soups, and fish or meat dishes. Or, try substituting them for basil leaves in classic Genoese pesto: a fresh and flavorful twist that will make your mouth water.

Siam Queen Organic Basil Seeds may contain traces of soy, mustard, wheat, gluten, and grasses.
Store the seeds in a cool, ventilated place, with a temperature between 8° and 20° C, protected from atmospheric agents, changes in humidity and sunlight.
