Organic Thai Basil

Organic Thai basil, botanically known as Ocimum basilicum, is an exotic, oriental alternative to classic green basil. Its seeds develop small green leaves, varying in shade depending on the light they're grown under. Like all basil varieties, this one grows relatively slowly and doesn't grow very tall; however, these small leaves, which exude a delicate flavor with hints of anise and licorice, will satisfy your appetite from the very first bite.

How can I grow it?

Producing organic Thai basil sprouts is quick and easy, even at home.
Thai Basil, like all other variants of the same family, has a mucilaginous seedThis means that, when it comes into contact with water, it develops a mucous membrane around itself to ensure proper and constant humidity throughout germination. Therefore, we recommend not soaking the seeds, planting them too densely, or overwatering them, especially in the early days of growth.
Store the seeds in the dark, watering them about twice a day, until they fully germinate after 4-5 days. Then, place them in sunlight until they're ready to harvest: this will ensure they develop the best possible flavor and aroma.
After about 20 days you can harvest your Thai Basil microgreens, cutting them as close to the root as possible, and enjoy them.

How can I eat it?

Organic Thai basil microgreens, with their delicate flavor and licorice aftertaste, are the perfect addition to enhance your dishes, such as salads, soups, and fish or meat dishes. Or, try substituting them for basil leaves in classic Genoese pesto: a fresh and flavorful twist that will make your mouth water.

Organic Thai Basil seeds may contain traces of soy, mustard, wheat, gluten, and grasses.
Store the seeds in a cool, ventilated place, with a temperature between 8° and 20° C, protected from atmospheric agents, changes in humidity and sunlight.
