Description
Organic Nasu pepper
The Nasu organic hot pepper is a variety of Capsicum annuum native to Asia. Its plant is small and compact, usually reaching a height of 40 cm, and its fruits turn from green to red as they ripen. With an average of 10,000 SHU on the Scoville scale, this cultivar has a pungent but moderate pungency, making it perfect for more delicate palates.
How can I grow it?
The cultivation of the organic Nasu chilli is quite simple and also lends itself perfectly to pot cultivation. The best time to start growing this variety outdoors is between March and May, while in an indoor space you can sow the seeds as early as February.
Sprout the seeds by placing them on moistened paper towels; the first roots may sprout in a few days or a few weeks, depending on the level of moisture present.
Once the shoots have sprouted, you can move them into the soil. Make sure you create a warm, bright climate and water sparingly and regularly, taking care not to create water stagnation.
You can harvest the fruit when it is ripe and will come off the plant easily, after about three months.
How can I eat it?
Thanks to its relatively low spiciness and small, round shape, Nasu chillies are ideal for eating stuffed or in oil.
We recommend wearing gloves when handling the chillies to avoid skin irritation.
Store the seeds in a cool, ventilated place with a temperature between 8° and 20° C, protected from weather, changes in humidity and sunlight.
