3,90 € – 35,00 €
Organic Chia seeds are a variety native to Latin America. Today they are found all over the world, but have you ever tried growing them and harvesting the sprouts? They grow quickly and easily and are characterised by small leaves with a delicate flavour with bitter notes.
Description
Organic Chia
Organic Chia microgreens, botanically known as Salvia hispanica, are renowned for being a real superfood: its small, dark green leaves are rich in nutrients, especially Omega 3 and Omega 6. Light and delicate with a slightly bitter taste, they will enrich your diet with flavour and well-being.
How can I grow it?
Producing organic Chia sprouts is quick and easy, even at home.
This variety has a mucilaginous seed: this means that, when it comes into contact with water, it develops a mucous membrane around it to ensure proper and constant moisture throughout germination. Therefore, we advise you not to soak the seeds, not to plant them too densely and not to water them too much, especially in the first days of growth.
To ensure that the seeds get the right moisture, we advise you to let them grow in the dark for the first 4/5 days, keeping them covered and watering them a couple of times a day.
After the first shoots have sprouted, you can move your seedling into the light until it has fully developed its characteristic green leaves. In 10/12 the organic Chia microgreens will be ready to be harvested (by cutting them as close to the root as possible) and enjoyed.
