Description
Organic Green Perilla
The organic seeds of Green Perilla, botanical name Perilla frutescens, are rather delicate, so they require time and care to develop to their full potential. The result, however, will surprise you: this variety boasts a unique flavour in terms of freshness and aromaticity and is therefore one of the most popular items for the production of microgreens.
How can I grow it?
Growing organic green Perilla microgreens requires a little time and patience, but the results will be worth the wait. To boost the germination will of your organic seeds, we recommend storing them in the refrigerator for 3/4 days and soaking them in warm water for 2/4 hours before sowing. Next, sprinkle them on your substrate and leave them in the dark, covered, until they have fully germinated, usually after 6/8 days. At this point, place your organic green Perilla sprouts in the light and spray them lightly and often with water to complete cultivation. After another 4/6 days, you can harvest the first green Perilla microgreens, otherwise wait another 10/12 days for larger, more developed leaves.
How can I eat it?
Organic Green Perilla microgreens are perfect, even cooked, as an addition to traditional Asian recipes. Otherwise, we suggest using them raw to add a touch of elegance, freshness and aroma to your meat and fish dishes or desserts.
Organic Green Perilla seeds may contain traces of soy, mustard, wheat, gluten and grasses.
Store seeds in a cool, ventilated place, with temperature between 8° and 20° C, away from weather, changes in humidity and sunlight.
