Description
Organic Maize
With the organic microgreens of Maize, botanical name Zea mays, success is guaranteed: its seeds grow in just a few days, giving rise to long, tapering leaves that shade from yellow to bright green depending on the light they receive during cultivation. Rich in nutrients – especially vitamins A and C, potassium and magnesium – they have a sweet and soft taste, reminiscent of classic Maize grains.
How can I grow it?
Producing organic Maize microgreens is quick and easy, even at home.
Start by soaking your organic seeds for 6/8 hours in cold water. Then drain them, dry them well and place them on the substrate of your choice. Cover them and leave them in the dark for the first few days until the first shoots have sprouted. After that, you can move them under a light source and continue to grow them, watering sparingly and often, and after about 10 days you can harvest and enjoy your microgreens.
How can I eat it?
Organic Maize microgreens have a tender, slightly crunchy texture and a delicate flavour reminiscent of classic cereal. We recommend eating them raw so as not to lose their texture and nutrient properties. Try them as an addition to sandwiches, smoothies and salads, or as a simple snack.
Organic Maize seeds may contain traces of soy, mustard, wheat, gluten and grasses.
Store the seeds in a cool and ventilated place, with temperature between 8° and 20° C, away from weather, changes in humidity and direct sunlight.
