What makes Cress such a popular and sought-after variety in the world of microgreens is certainly the speed and ease with it can be cultivated. And, although it does not require much effort to grow to its full potential, the result won’t disappoint at all: thanks to its strong, spicy flavour, only a little is needed to enrich any of your recipes.

Description

Organic Cress

Organic Cress seeds, botanical name Lepidium sativum, grow fast and require no special attention. Thus, in a few days they will give birth to curly, green leaves that are as small as they are tasty, thanks to their fresh and spicy flavour, which is more intense especially in the first days of growth. We therefore advise you to taste a few leaves every now and then, so that you can cut your microgreens when they have reached the perfect flavour for you.

How can I grow it?

Producing organic Cress sprouts is quick and easy, even at home.
Organic Cress has a mucilaginous seed: this means that when it comes into contact with water, it develops a mucous membrane around it to ensure proper and constant moisture throughout germination. Therefore, we advise you not to soak the seeds, not to plant them too densely and not to water them too much, especially in the first days of growth.
Keep the seeds in the dark by watering them about a couple of times a day until they have fully germinated after 3/5 days. Afterwards, place them in sunlight until they are ready to be harvested: this will ensure that they develop the best possible flavour and aroma. To harvest and enjoy these microgreens, you only need to wait a maximum of 10/12 days.

How can I eat it?

With a curly leaf and a slightly spicy flavour, organic Cress microgreens are a perfect addition to bring colour and flavour to your dishes. Try them in classic salads, or experiment by adding them as a garnish to bruschetta, carpaccio or soups.

Organic Cress seeds may contain traces of soy, mustard, wheat, gluten and grasses.

Store seeds in a cool and ventilated place, with temperature between 8° and 20° C, away from weather, humidity changes and sunlight.
